Latest news - Grifaid family filter to be deployed in Kenyan maternity clinic
The Yellowmen are a group of Sussex Rotarians and friends led by Eddie McCall who have been working in Central Pokot, North West Kenya for the past twelve years, helping the local community.
Recently the group have raised money to help pay for a maternity ward in Mbara in West Pokot. This project will help to reduce the difficulties mothers-to-be experience, having to travel down a steep unmade mountain road to reach the nearest hospital in Sigor some 20 -25 kilometres away.
Hailing the new version of the family filter as 'excellent and simpler to use', the Yellowmen have purchased another unit to help provide local drinking water in the community.
Work is currently underway and we look forward to seeing the maternity unit up and running!
